If you are not clear enough about the care instructions of your rug, try it washing in the machine only by giving a heavy shake and then putting mild warm water along with soft detergents. The detergent must not be too quick in its action and should be very mild in nature. Then tumble dry the rug at low heat. 4. The size of rugs also affects the basic method of rug cleaning. If it is a large size rug, obviously you cannot give it heavy shake by your hand, instead go for traditional beating. Beating large sized rugs helps in clearing dusts off from the rug. Big size rugs are generally requiring dry cleaning method, as it is difficult to handle them by individual in wet condition. You can apply vacuum cleaning to clean your big size rugs, then to roll it and send for dry cleaning. Dry cleaning is most done by professional cleaners! 5. Area rugs are easy to clean; simple process of suction can get them cleaned well enough for use. You can also try them with careful beating process. 6. Traditional rugs like, oriental, Turkish or Persian rugs can be best cleaned if you follow the care instructions properly.
